Wheel Rims
To be able to stock a rim for every type and model motorcycle wheel would be a mammoth task, so we have opted to have the facilities to be able to make a rim to suit any particular hub. Starting from a blank rim (which we spin on a special jig to check for faults) we are able to put the dimples into the centre of the rim in the correct pattern (there are several different patterns) and then, by using a CAD program on the computer, punch or drill the spoke nipple holes to the correct angle to suit each particular hub.
Each rim is then highly polished by us to a mirror finish ,then we chrome plate using quality chrome,we pay attention to detail and quality, our chrome rims are the best finish in the UK , but this does not come hand in hand with cheap, if you want a budget wheel , I am afraid that it is not available from SRM.

British made Chrome plated rims
This rim is made to be a replacement rim for the DUNLOP and JONES type of rims that were most commonly fitted to British motorcycles. It follows the DUNLOP rim profile and reflects the high quality of engineering in the DUNLOP rim.
The blank steel rims are manufactured in limited numbers in the UK to a high quality. Each rim is formed with a TIG welded joint carefully done to minimise any distortion of the rim (this is a feature not normally seen on ‘mass produced ‘rims).
Each rim is polished to a high standard before having the dimples and holes formed into it.
All rims are Chrome plated in Britain. As chrome rims are made to order, please allow 4 weeks extra to complete the rims.

Stainless Steel Rims
Keeping a chrome rim in A1 condition involves time carefully cleaning and waxing every part of the wheel on a regular basis. For some of us this time could be spent actually riding the bike – this is where the Stainless rim saves the day providing the looks and shine of the chrome rim with out the fuss and bother (combined with stainless spokes you have the maintenance free wheel).
The rims are manufactured in Britain in small batches with an emphasis on quality. Each stainless rim is rolled to the ‘DUNLOP’ profile from a single piece of quality stainless sheet TIG welded to minimise distortion of the rim. The rim is then highly polished to provide a deep shine before the dimples and holes are formed into the rim. The rim is then polished one last time to ensure a long lasting shine (with the appearance of chrome with a very slight yellow tint).
These rims have been thoroughly tested at MIRA at unbelievable loads.

Valanced Alloy Rims
These EXCEL rims are in a class of their own.
Not only does the Tagosako EXCEL rim (manufactured in small batches in JAPAN) look the part but it also has the engineering excellence you come to expect from their products. You will see these rims fitted to hundreds of classic racers all over the world and many classic British road bikes too. We stock the rims in ‘blanks’ so each rim can be individually drilled to suit the required hub.
During the 50’s and 60’s the ‘DUNLOP’ and the ‘BORRANI’ valanced (flanged) alloy rim was the choice of any racer/café racer or special builder. These rims were light,strong and well engineered enough for the hardest racer. Unfortunately since these rims have become un available a series of poor quality reproductions come onto the market at various times.
Only when we found the Tagosako EXCEL valanced rim did we feel that there was a rim that was a worthy replacement for the
‘DUNLOP’ and ‘BORRANI’.
