Gearboxes

At SRM Engineering, we specialise in Quality gearbox rebuilds for both unit and pre-unit single and twin models.

The gearboxes are stripped, assessed and re-conditioned in our purpose built room.

The Layshaft is reground and new undersize bushes are fitted and then honed to the exact tolerances of the new shaft.

Worn gears are replaced along with the sleeve gear bushes and the kickstart ratchet gear bush on the mainshaft.

SRM’s re-manufactured Stainless Steel clutch operating arm is used where the old actuating arm is worn (no other replacements available), the gearbox shell can be bead blasted while the outer covers can be polished.

New sprockets, tab washers and modern oil seals are used throughout the rebuild.
